IDI - CHURCHES IN DEFENSE OF ISRAEL
mobilizing the Church to take up
its role in these prophetic times
VISION
We believe that the return of the Jewish people to their Land is not a historical coincidence, but the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. The Zionism we uphold is not political, but prophetic: rooted in the Scriptures and founded on the faithfulness of the Lord, who promised to restore Israel: “This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.” Ezekiel 36:24

MISSION
We are an alliance of Brazilian churches rising up to stand in defense of the Jewish people, both those living in Israel and those still scattered among the nations. Our calling is to support Aliyah - the return of the Jewish people to the Promised Land, by teaching the Church that Aliyah means more than immigration: it means “ascent”, a spiritual and physical movement of restoration foretold by the prophets
The IDI exists to affirm, with clarity and conviction, the legitimate historical and biblical right of the Jewish people to dwell in the Land promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob more than three thousand years ago
CONSTITUTION OF IDI
Inspired by the words of the prophet Isaiah, who declares:
“For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, until her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch” (Isaiah 62:1), we, the founding members of IDI – Churches in Defense of Israel, also known as Israel in the Nations, unite with the purpose of expressing our unwavering support for God’s eternal plan concerning the people of Israel and the city of Jerusalem.
We understand that the current historical moment represents the fulfillment of ancient biblical prophecies, and we stand as an alliance of churches and believers committed to defending and blessing the nation of Israel. Our work is strictly based on the principles of the Holy Scriptures, entirely detached from any political party or ideology, and focused on strengthening the Church’s faith and understanding of its prophetic role in this present age, in relation to the remnant of Israel and the Church.
This charter represents our solemn commitment to God’s purposes for Israel and our determination to fulfill the prophetic calling of our generation. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob enable us to remain faithful to this vision and use us as instruments of his will for the blessing of Israel and the edification of his Church.
Article 1 – Declaration of Faith and Doctrinal Principles
IDI is founded upon the inerrant authority of the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, as the only rule of faith and conduct. We believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the Creator of heaven and earth, who revealed himself through covenants and in progressive revelation throughout history.
We affirm the indissolubility of God’s covenants with Israel, acknowledging that “the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29).
We believe that salvation has been extended to all nations through the Messiah of Israel, and that both Jews and Gentiles who believe in him are grafted into the same olive tree, sharing the same promise.
We categorically reject replacement theology, affirming that the Church has not replaced Israel in God’s eternal plans but has been grafted in to partake of the spiritual blessings promised to the patriarchs.
Article 2 – Mission and Vision
Our vision is to witness the full restoration of Israel, as promised in Scripture, and to see the global Church aligned with God’s purposes for this prophetic time. We aim to be a prophetic voice, awakening the Church’s awareness of her responsibility toward the Jewish people and the nation of Israel. Our mission is to mobilize, educate, and equip churches and believers to stand in defense of Israel and the Jewish people - combating indifference and antisemitism, and to act as active partners in the fulfillment of God’s promises concerning Zion. We seek to be a bridge of understanding and cooperation between the Church and Israel, promoting practical love and unconditional support.
Article 3 – A House of Prayer for Israel
In obedience to the biblical command of Psalm 122:6 - “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper who love you”, IDI commits to being a house of prayer for Israel. We will promote and encourage continual intercession for the peace of Jerusalem, the protection of her borders, the wisdom of her leaders, and the salvation of the Jewish people. We will organize prayer vigils, intercession campaigns, and special events dedicated to Israel, believing that prayer is a powerful spiritual weapon and that God honors those who stand on behalf of his chosen people.
Article 4 – Active Opposition to Antisemitism
We strongly denounce every form of antisemitism, whether theological, historical, or contemporary. We recognize that antisemitism is a spiritual manifestation of opposition to God’s purposes and a direct affront to his heart.
IDI commits to educating the Church on the origins and expressions of antisemitism, equipping believers to identify and confront this form of prejudice. We will publicly stand in defense of the Jewish people against all slander, discrimination, and persecution, remembering God’s promise: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3).
Article 5 – Support for Aliyah (Return to Israel)
We believe that the return of the Jewish people to the Promised Land (Aliyah) is one of the greatest prophetic signs of our time and a literal fulfillment of Scripture: “For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land” (Ezekiel 36:24)
This movement is not merely historical or social , it is a divine act within God’s eternal plan.
The Church is called to cooperate in this process, as Isaiah 49:22 declares that the nations would assist in bringing Israel’s sons and daughters home.
IDI commits to supporting this divine movement , through prayer and practical action , raising awareness in the Church about her prophetic role in helping the Jewish people return to their homeland, supporting organizations and initiatives that facilitate Aliyah, and promoting understanding that this is a time of unprecedented prophetic fulfillment.
Article 6 – Educating the Church on God’s Purposes
IDI will dedicate itself to teaching the Church about God’s eternal plans for Israel, refuting false doctrines that claim the Church has replaced Israel. Our goal is to restore the biblical understanding that Israel and the Church are distinct yet complementary parts of one redemptive plan. We will promote seminars, conferences, courses, and educational materials that clarify Israel’s prophetic role and the Church’s responsibility to bless the Jewish people. We will teach that the Church owes a spiritual debt of gratitude to Israel:
“If the Gentiles have shared in the Jews’ spiritual blessings, they owe it to the Jews to share with them their material blessings” (Romans 15:27).
Article 7 – Production and Dissemination of Educational Content
To fulfill its mission, IDI will produce and disseminate high-quality biblical content on Israel and the Church’s prophetic calling , targeted to local congregations, pastors, youth, and the wider Christian community. We will develop articles, Bible studies, videos, podcasts, books, digital courses, and other resources to edify and instruct the Body of Christ. All content will be theologically sound and Scripture-based, designed to counter misinformation and distorted narratives about Israel, maintaining excellence and biblical fidelity as our standard.
Article 8 – Promoting Unity Among Churches and Ministries
IDI will seek to promote unity among churches, denominations, and ministries that share the same love and commitment to Israel. We will act as a platform for cooperation and collaboration, transcending denominational boundaries for a common purpose. We believe that unity of purpose amplifies impact and glorifies God, who called us to be “one body” (1 Corinthians 12:12). We will organize events, conferences, and joint initiatives bringing together leaders and ministries devoted to the cause of Israel.
Article 9 – Acts of Justice and Mercy
Recognizing that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:17), IDI will put its convictions into practical action through works of justice and compassion. We will support social and humanitarian projects in Israel and in Jewish communities worldwide, manifesting God’s love through tangible acts. Being established in Brazil, IDI will also support local outreach projects for vulnerable children and youth in Rio de Janeiro, continuing the work we began in 2013.
“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me” (Matthew 25:40). Our acts of mercy will be a living testimony of God’s love and a practical expression of our faith.
Article 10 – Governance and Leadership
IDI will be governed by a council of trustworthy leaders, representing various denominations and ministries, all committed to the principles established in this charter. Our governance will emphasize wisdom, integrity, accountability, and dependence on the Holy Spirit in every decision. The council will consist of pastors, ministry leaders, and laypersons known for their spiritual maturity, biblical knowledge, and love for Israel. All decisions will be made in a spirit of prayer and consensus, seeking only God’s glory and the fulfillment of the organizational mission.
Article 11 – Nonpartisan and Nonprofit Nature
IDI – Churches in Defense of Israel – is a strictly spiritual and prophetic organization, unaffiliated with any political party, candidate, or ideology. Our loyalty is to the Kingdom of God and his eternal purposes. We are a nonprofit entity, committed solely to biblical truth and the fulfillment of God’s will. We neither endorse political candidates nor engage in electoral campaigns, maintaining independence and spiritual focus in accordance with the Messiah’s teaching: “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s” (Matthew 22:21).
Article 12 – Commitment to Transparency and Faithful Stewardship
IDI commits to the faithful stewardship of all resources entrusted by the Lord, conducting all financial affairs with integrity and transparency. We recognize that everything belongs to him, and that our leaders serve as stewards before God and the Church. All donations and finances will be handled responsibly, following best practices in governance. Regular financial reports will be made available to members and partners, reflecting our accountability and integrity as a testimony to God’s character.
Article 13 – Integrity of the Land of Israel and Rejection of the Two-State Solution
IDI declares its firm, biblically grounded position against any proposal to divide the Land of Israel, including the so-called “two-state solution.” Scripture establishes that the Land of Israel was given by God to Abraham and his descendants through an eternal and unconditional covenant:
“On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates” (Genesis 15:18).
This covenant was reaffirmed to Isaac and Jacob:
“He remembers His covenant forever... the covenant he made with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac. He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, to Israel as an everlasting covenant: To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion you will inherit” (1 Chronicles 16:13-18).
Therefore, we categorically reject any division of the Land of Israel as contrary to God’s Word and his eternal purposes, recalling the warning of Joel 3:2:
“I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land.”
We affirm the unbroken historical and spiritual connection of the Jewish people to the Land of Israel and their inalienable right to dwell within its full biblical boundaries. We reject international pressures that oppose God’s promises, while maintaining love and respect for the Arab peoples as creations of God. However, we reject any political or ideological narrative that denies Israel’s biblical and historical rights. The indivisibility of the Land of Israel is directly tied to the fulfillment of prophecy regarding Aliyah and to Jerusalem’s role as the eternal capital of the Jewish people.
Christians must pray for, support, and work for the peace and well-being of Israel, for the redemption of the world is linked to the restoration of Zion. Therefore, the Church must not remain indifferent to those who seek Israel’s destruction, but must be a prophetic voice, proclaiming God’s faithfulness to his promises. Thus, IDI firmly stands against any proposal to divide the Land of Israel, regarding it as unbiblical, historically false, impractical, and contrary to God’s eternal purposes
